If there are two people in the memory making business you should know, it's Becky Higgins and Heidi Swapp. They are changing the entire scrapbooking industry, and I LOVE when they partner together for Project Life products.
I've been a follower of both ladies for awhile, and recently, Heidi's life changed forever. Her teenage son passed away, and Heidi has been quite open and honest about what happened. I haven't been able to scroll through her Insta without tearing up for the past couple weeks. Even though it's out in the interwebs, I still feel awkward sharing her story here, so instead, you can read the full story here.
Part of Heidi's mission statement for both her personal and professional lives has always been "Memories Matter", and I could not agree more. As someone who started scrapbooking when I was 13 (anyone remember Creative Memories?), memories, and more importantly, capturing memories has always been super important to me. Like everyone else with a busy life, I'm always behind. But that doesn't stop me from at least trying to capture all the memories I've been blessed to have.
Heidi is so strong, encouraging and selfless, that she is turning her grief into something positive for everyone else. I'm not so sure I would have her strength, were the situation turned. But, it's a shining example and a reminder to always look for the good in every moment, situation or day. And, not only to look for those things, but to actually capture and record those moments.
So, for the next 30 days, Heidi is challenging all of us to simply capture life. Heidi will be sharing an open-ended prompt on Instagram (@heidiswapp). For each prompt, you can either take new photos or find existing photos that fit the theme. The goal is to be mindful of finding the good, the positive, the real in everyday life, and to capture those moments.
I hope you'll participate! If you do, share your Insta handle in the comments below. You can follow along with my 30 days here.
